BAT promotes the five pillars throughout its leadership practices and health and safety policy and principles. Not only does it set a culture of transparency, honestly monitoring and reporting health and safety performance, but it also recognize and rewards exceptional behaviour with respect to health and safety.
BAT has an established corporate Health and Safety team which sets performance expectations, monitors minimum standards and annual plans for continual improvement and provides guidance and assurance of site-level execution of health and safety management practices.
All workers and sub-contractors are given induction training on all BAT sites and key staff undergo first aid and work-place safety training.
